Train to become a Water Safety Instructor through the American Red Cross!

We will teach you to help our young recreational swimmers to meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on and around the water. You will enjoy a fun, active work environment with the reward of watching others succeed though the help of your knowledge and guidance. You do not need to be a member of a swim team or have your Lifeguard Certification to train as a Water Safety Instructor. The Water Safety Instructor Certification can help you start a rewarding job that can take you through High School, College and beyond.

  • Need to be 16 years of age by the final course date.
  • Have passed Red Cross Learn to Swim Level 6 or have an equivalent skill set.
  • Pass a pre-course skills test taken at the beginning of the course.
